how do I restore plastic gas tank
hi..l have a suzuki rm fuel tank that has scuffs and scratches....it is
yellow plastic tank...1978....how can l restore tank with out painting
it...some one said you can wet sand them to look new...HOW...dont wanna
scratch it worse than it is
Hi Mike, happy 2009 - I use a lambswool buffing pad on a
electric auto polisher to take scratches out of plastic m/guards etc - a
small amount of cutting compound and the scratches disappear.
some of the Auto parts stores HAV a product that cleans plastic
headlight lens try that or get it painted

LOL!!! Heat gun and a fuel tank.. MAD IDEA!
You can also use a heat gun to smooth out the scuffs and
scratches and then put a really light coat of wax on it. It will look
brand new.
wet sand it with different grits till you get to about 1200
then buff with a rubbing compound then a polsing compound
