Crack on the fish tank upper and lower plastic ring

l had a new 20G all-glass fish tank for 2 months now. Recently l notice a 
Freeload
thin line of crack on both the upper and lower black plastic ring. l am

concerned if this will affect the stability of the glass. My assumption is

that these 1'' plastic rectangle ring is what holds the glass of the tank

together. Can you tell me if l should be concerned?

The silicone is what holds the tank together. If you look at  
Fattums
where the glass edges join together you can see the seam of rubbery stuff

on the inside. That is silicone. The black plastic around the top is just

extra support & designed to give you a place to securely seat the

hood/lighting. I would just super glue the crack as ilogikal suggested &

you should be fine. You want to leave the black plastic on for the extra  
support - I would not remove it - but the tank should be fine because the  
silicone is what is actually holding the tank together.

i have had tanks with small cracks in the black plastic rings,

i usually stick a bit of super glue in it and forget about it, never had a

tank fall apart or leak because of it!
